One aspect that separates Brazilian Jiu Jitsu from most other martial arts, is that it can be practiced at 100% effort against a resisting opponent. You get to apply the techniques you learn in class against a teammate in live sparring sessions. This is the biggest differentiator, but also sometimes one that is more intimidating to new students.
Our goal is to create an environment where you feel safe and comfortable while you learn first the sport while also pushing you outside of your comfort zone. Our introductory class will provide everything you need to know about training BJJ at Groundworks.
